Overview

Aussie Swap is a virtual marketplace. Users buy and sell books, CDs, DVDs, and video games. What makes Aussie Swap different is that you are swapping your items for points (our virtual currency) and then using those points to “buy” an item from other users. So you are still swapping, in essence, but you are not swapping your item directly for another item. You receive points whenever you swap an item out to someone and you spend points whenever you request an item from someone.

Step 1: List your items easily.

Listing an item for swap is as simple as searching for the name of the item under the section on books, movies, music or video games. When you find your item, click on the offer swap link. This will display a form that will allow you to enter the condition of your item, condition notes, how long you would like to ship the item out, and the number of points you would like for your item.

Step 2: Receive points for the items you listed.

To get you started, we'll give you 1 point for each item that you add to your swap list (up to a maximum of 10 points). This allows you to start swapping immediately!

Step 3: Order the items you want.

Search for items that you would like to get in the search box or by clicking on the books, movies, music, or video games icons. Look to see if there are any available (it will say under the title of the item). If 1 or more copies of that item are available, then click on Find Swaps and see the different sellers offering that item. Decide which seller to get the item from based on the amount of points wanted for the item or their seller feedback for example and then add the item to your cart. After you select the items you want, they will get shipped to you. If you come across an item that you want later or can't afford yet, simply add it to your wish list for later.

Step 4: Ship your items and get points in return.

When someone requests an item on your swap list you will receive an email notifying you of the potential swap. Just login to your account and click on the button to accept the swap. Mail out the item to the buyer, then go back to the website and click on the Mark as Shipped button. This will send an email to the buyer letting them know their item is on its way. Once the buyer receives the item, they go to the website and click the button Mark as Received. That completes the swap and your points are deposited into your account.

How much does it cost?

It is a dollar per swap! We don't charge anything when you swap an item out. For every item you receive as a swap on Aussie Swap, there's a $1 transaction fee. Hence, the $1 per swap. We can't actually charge you for just $1, though, each time you request an item because the credit card service fees are too high. Instead, we sell Credits. One credit is equivalent to $1. We sell credits in packs of 10 for $10, 30 for $27, and 50 for $40. You can also get credits free when you refer a friend to Aussie Swap and they register. Credits never expire, so you can use them to get an item whenever you want. To get you started we give you a free credit when you register.
